Police Background Check

As part or Alpine Canada Alpin's (ACA) Safe Sport initiatives, a police background check is highly recommended for active coaches, 18 years and older, working in ACA, Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) and club programs.


ACA is working with PSOs to ensure the safest possible environment for athletes participating in ski racing programs in Canada at all levels.


Where to Get your Background Check

ACA has partnered with the Coaching Association of Canada to provide a police background check service through Sterling Backcheck. ACA would like ALL active coaches to use this service.


The cost for this service is $25.00 (plus taxes).


Coaches can access this service by:

  • Go to the Sterling Backcheck-Coach.ca landing page.
  • Select "Alpine Canada Alpin" from the dropdown menu of participating organizations.
  • Fill in all the fields. Please have your CSCF member ID handy.
  • Proceed to set up your account and follow directions to complete your order for a police background check.


Access to Results

You will be notified by email from Sterling Backcheck of your result within 48 hours. In addition, ACA will receive a copy of the results.


Results of the criminal record check will be recorded in the ACA-Canadian Ski Coaches Federation (CSCF) database and will be made available to club and PSO employers of professional and volunteer coaches working in ski racing programs across Canada. Employer access is provide through ACA-CSCF Partner Services log in from the CSCF web site. Only recognized organizations are permitted Partner Services account access.
